Basic Life Support – Provider Course
BLS
Basic life support teaches a person about the initial assessment and resuscitation of a victim in cardiac arrest of all age group (infant, children and adults). This is a 6 hour work-shop which includes.
- Audiovisual Demos
- Hands on experience on mannequins regarding how to do chest compression, how to take care of airway & how to use defibrillator.
- How to deal with adult, pediatric and infant choking victim.
- Use of Ambu bag as a Breathing Aid.
- Use of Automated External Defibrillator for out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest.
- CPR as per latest guidelines.
- Lay person Resuscitation.
Every candidate is assessed at the end using multiple choice questions and performance on skill station for Medical Emergencies and if the candidate adequately demonstrates the required skills, then he is awarded a BCLS certificate from American Heart Association which is endorsed by all International Resuscitation Councils. All the candidates are given books and study material at the time of registration. Any one interested in learning lifesaving skills can register for BLS course. For lay persons, it is preferable to register in a similar group due to ease of learning. We do conduct Lay person CPR on frequent basis.
